About Initiative

In 1994, Abdullatif Jameel Company founded this Fund at Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT) to honor its founder Sheikh Abdullatif Jameel  to show its appreciation for the long relationship between Toyota and Sheikh Abdullatif Jameel. Students who receive the scholarship are called Jameel/Toyota scientists. Through the scholarship, students from 28 Middle Eastern and Asian countries receive financial support to pursue their postgraduate studies in this reputed university, but whose financial conditions do not allow them to do so. Fields of study include architecture, economy, electrical engineering, mathematics, chemistry, physics and aviation sciences.
